Growing up the 90’s, Alternative Rock and Pop are very prevalent influences in Will Sims’ various works. Bands such as Matchbox Twenty, Goo Goo Dolls, and Oasis were very impactful and led to very relatable and and catchy ballads such as ‘Will You Remember?,’ ‘Lovesick,’ and ‘Everything Will Work Out.’ Sims also has written songs that incorporate flavors of many genres such as reggae in the song ‘Unwind,’ Hip Hop in ‘Gun to Your Head,’ and Hard Rock in ‘Wrecker.’
Sims has released 3 albums, 3 singles, and a live album since he began his solo career. His most recent release ‘See Right Through Me (Live)’ features a stellar line up of local Baltimore talent to back Sims on stage at the recently re-opened venue The Recher. The setlist features a blend of songs from Sims’ solo albums as well as a song from his previous band Roll It Over. An old stomping grounds for Will Sims, The Recher was home to some amazing shows from his former bands including opening for Smile Empty Soul, The Dreaming, 12 Stones, Taproot, Hurt, Kip Winger, and hometown heroes Charm City Devils.
